BIX – Brine Ion Exchange Systems
Remove impurities and maintain brine quality in the chlor alkali cycle.
Brine Ion Exchange is a proven method of producing high-purity brine in the Chlor Alkali Cycle. The brine can be economically returned to an ultra-pure state by simple polishing rather than using fresh make up process brine. Typically used as the final part of a plant’s brine treatment system, brine polishing prevents contamination risks within the production cycle which could result in loss of process efficiency and possible mechanical damage to key components.
Brine Polishing Technology
The Brine Ion Exchange process is used to maintain a high quality of brine by removing impurities such as calcium, magnesium, strontium and barium. The Brine Ion Exchange process uses ion exchange technology, using resin-based systems which involve exchanging the contaminant ions with hydroxide ions in a porous synthetic resin media.?
